It should all be okay 😊
Really good blocking and camerawork stop a pretty typical World War 1 drama from fading into obscurity. Probably a bit harsh but the atmosphere works incredibly well at times here (see no man's land) and at other times can be a bit needless (see the final few shots)
Will probably sweep a heap of Oscar's but I can't really see myself wanting to watch this again. Still it was a pretty tense 2 hours sitting in the cinema.
I've really messed up this review, it's good not great. No, wait! Its great not amazing. Fuck.

It is good to see Rian Johnson come out the other side of all that though and with such a strong effort. For a Twisty film (pretty sure that's the genre name) it is as tight, gripping and fun as you can get. I really feel like we are going to get an absolute classic from Johnson any moment now. Maybe The Last Jedi was the one?
