Drive My Car

Drive My Car ★★★★½

“I thought I could hear her for 100 people.”

If Michael Stuhlbarg’s monologue from Call Me By Your Name was a movie, I feel like it’d be Drive My Car. A film about love and loss and betrayal, and learning to reconcile the fact that a person can love someone and hurt them at the same time. Betrayal does not necessarily cancel out love, and love does not necessarily stop betrayal. Everything just… is, and usually, it hurts.

I killed him. I killed him. I killed him.”
