Not the kind of 5-star film that I'd recommend my friends all rush out and see but a film I found so beautiful, tender and evocative, in large part due to my own time spent in Japan and my background. Blown away.

Fast X 2023
I’m glad people hated this as it set my expectations low and then I was pleasantly surprised. This is mostly a return to form (better than 9) Jason Momoa as the first gay Fast & Furious villain. Unverified but I think Momoa learnt acting from watching ‘Scary Movie’ as he mugs through this entire thing like it’s a comedy sketch.
That being said this basically fully embraces Saturday Morning Cartoon vibes. You cannot resist the gravitational pull of Vin Diesel’s bald…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 2023
That James Gunn got fired from this, brought back and still made something so uniquely him is a credit to how he has managed to remarkably work the studio system.

The First Monday in May 2016
Yawn.
The fashion is undeniably beautiful and Met Gala photos are always fun to spend an afternoon looking at each year.

How Stella Got Her Groove Back 1998
A peculiar movie. First hour moves at a breakneck pace and is basically Angela Bassett looking fine as hell, being horny with Taye Diggs, who is also looking like a snack. Movie at this point is basically 'How Stella Got Her Back Blown Out'.
Then the second half kicks in and lays the melodrama on thick but not detrimentally. Corny, funny and sweet.
