Kieran Schafer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Pair with a glass of good red wine.
This fiendish and haunting story had me drawn in from start to finish. It's unconventional, it's at times contrived, yet it's daringly delectable and by the end I bought every slab of it at whole sale.
Garance Marillier is chilling in her riveting performance that feels so sensitively human and yet as we reach the end, darkly in-human. Ruben Impens' cinematography stands out in this movie from the very first shot. Still low-level wides and elongated steady-cams cause Raw to feel personal within its characters and their environment and yet, safely distant when appropriate.
This monstrously beautiful and coarsely human tale defies American standards and leaves me going to bed with images of flesh on my mind and a haunting smile on my face.
