Ali Lakhany’s review published on Letterboxd:
Having studied the novel by Carver, I came in with an understanding of the capitalist downfalls of American suburbia that the novel intended to convey, not to mention some very high expectations. THEY WERE MET. This film with its deeply saturated shots and cinematography that feels so close yet so so far gives us the stuffy intimacy and claustrophobic atmosphere so heavily suggested in the short stories. RDJ was phenomenal and I’ll be giving this a rewatch soon with some English students. SHARE THE LOVE!!!
