Pain and Glory

Pain and Glory ★★★★½

The only things I knew going into this film were that it was in Spanish and Antonio Banderas won Best Actor at Cannes. I'm so glad I went in blind. I've never seen an Almodóvar film and I was blown away. The stylistic choices were so interesting, I really liked the graphics for the scene when Salvador Mallo (Banderas) is telling the audience about his various ailments. The relationships in this film are exceptionally beautiful, whether it be Salvador's mother, past lovers, or colleagues. Also, please somebody talk to me about Pain and Glory's ending because it knocked my socks off.
