Dune 2 is proper ‘once in a life time’ tier cinema. Unbelievable filmmaking with enormous scale to the point where I’m just astounded WB let Villeneuve do it.
Seen plenty of rightful praise for Austin Butler and co. but Chalamet is superb. IMAX or nothing for this.
Time. A force that we have determined to be a construct that we abide by. Can we ever really feel the importance of it going by us, second by second? Perhaps we should try.
ARRIVAL is profound yet minimalist. A gorgeous study of the entity that we try to appease everyday and the choices we must face. Villenueve and Young are a godsend combo, coming straight after two Villeneuve / Deakins collabs (Prisoners , Sicario). ARRIVAL shares more in common with Enemy but on a flipped coin.
I adored this.
