It’s crazy how Mizoguchi’s 30th film is his earliest surviving work. If the 29 films he made before this was as mid as this, we aren’t missing out on too much, but it’s still very sad that so many of his films have never been seen by anybody since the 20s-40s because they have ceased to exist.

I Want to Hear the Wind's Song 1998
A film about a hearing-impaired couple. The husband is doing a triathlon while his wife is about to give birth, and the story of how they met, got together, and got married is told in flashback sequences.
It’s a very heartwarming film, and I was very invested in the story even though it didn’t have any subtitles in English. The plot wasn’t too hard to follow, but there were definitely a lot of details I missed by not understanding half… -
Intimacies 2012
Amazing, but I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to🥲. Most of the film was fantastic, but there were a few moments where it didn’t really hold my attention, and that is kind of unfortunate considering that it’s almost four and a half hours long.

Koyaanisqatsi 1982
Watching this in a theatre is one of the most mesmerizing things I’ve ever experienced. I swear I almost levitated during the time lapse scenes. Philip Glass is the goat.
