Allison M. 🌱’s review published on Letterboxd:
I saw Nancy Buirski's AFTERNOON OF A FAUN and absolutely loved it, so this film was on my list (I also have THE LOVING STORY lined up).
It's an absolute tragedy that I was the only one in the theater. It's a masterfully told story of a woman that was brutally gang raped and brutalized so that she could never have any children, other than the one daughter she already had.
The story goes deep into the politic climate of Alabama and leaves the viewer angry and sad. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it is powerful.
This is the 92nd film I have seen using Movie Pass.
