GOD this is so fun. In most of Diablo Cody's movies, (I'm thinking specifically about Tully, Young Adult, and Jennifer's Body) there are scenes including the main character applying/talking about makeup. The limiting and degrading consequences of society's conventions of female beauty and image are always a present theme in her work, and each film of hers dives into the issue at a different angle. I love her for this.
