Truly the most coked-out thing I've seen in a theater since...well, the last Michael Bay movie I saw in a theater (probably Transformers 3).
AmbuLAnce is strongest in the opening hour leading to the titular getaway vehicle. Lost in Translation 2003
Very problematic. During its peaks, Lost in Translation captures "being stuck" better than most movies I've seen. Coppola is great at mining moments of boredom and loneliness for emotional impact. Being by yourself in a place you don't know can feel like an empty experience. When Bob and Charlotte share that emptiness, there's an unspoken tension to their relationship that really elevates the film. The karaoke scene is just...ugh. Swoon.
