Bloated run time, but never boring, sad film and well acted. I could not help but think of Emelie Autumn's album Fight like a Girl while watching the mental institution parts and her describing various scenarios against the will of helpless *patients*. Which made me think of all of the pain men have caused women, in such roles as mental health doctors. Angelina is pretty solid here.

    The Place Beyond the Pines

This is about to be one of those times where I veer radically from Letterboxd. I was loving the initial set up, camera angles, the mood and introduction to the characters and it kept going down hill from there. I felt like this film tried to rely to much on its cast big names rather than put together anything competent. It felt like a colossal waste of time and a film that lacked any interesting story and cohesion. At times it was a bank robbery film, then a crooked cop film and then a teen drama film and it didn't succeed at any of them.

While watching this I kept thinking
Had not seen in awhile and was doing a comparison of which is better part 1 or 2.

The first thing that came as a surprise for me this time was, I spotted an actor and actress that also appeared In Near Dark. I Guess Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron were sharing more than a bed!

Linda Freaking Hamilton Rocks in here. <---Captain obvious statement.…

Really intense film. This is a lesson in how to ramp up the tension that everyone should study.

Now I have to see more of Ben Afflecks films.

Besides taking abit to set everything up I can't really find any flaws in this movie. The airport scene was my favorite, especially when the guy is explaining to the soldier what the Argo movie will be about.

I had been worried about a terrible depiction of the Iranian people in here…
