Film School Drop Outs Week 1: Auteurs - Pioneers of Film: George Melies
More entertaining than my first time watching 2001: A Space Odyssey if I'm being honest. The sheer amount of people and costumes (all the astronomer outfits and sailor outfits) crowded into one frame made it feel more like a production than modern films. In addition, the surrealism of the stars and constellations with human faces was a dreamy visual (to say nothing of the iconic moment when the rocket impales the moon's eye).
