It's astonishing to see all the positive reviews for this film. Sure, Sean Baker does some different things but this screenplay is just lazy and bland. No one has consequences for their actions and everything is acceptable. The kids are annoying as hell and shouldn't have carried the entirety of the film. The screenplay is poorly written and it has such poor acting efforts from literally everyone except for Brooklyn Prince and Willem Dafoe. Even Dafoe's performance isn't anything grand. This is just a ridiculous excuse to exploit the projects. There were so many chances to make this a powerful drama but they missed the bill. I didn't like this at all.
