this is the second film i’ve seen from kelly reichardt, and it absolutely wont be my last. you would think a film about a girl walking around trying to find her lost dog would be boring, but it wasn’t. but i think what i really love about wendy and lucy is that it feels real. it feels like i’m witnessing someone at the lowest point in their life, and i honestly don’t know if anyone other than michelle williams would pull it off. she depicts struggle and loneliness with such subtlety and it feels so genuine. next up: meeks cutoff!
