Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ★★★½

Good fight choreography? A compelling villain? In a Marvel movie? We're in somewhat rarified air, take note

Very charismatic cast, and a solid story that actually mostly feels like it stands alone. As everyone is raving about, the fight choreography is pretty stellar, and unlike the other rare cases of good MCU choreography it's shot and edited together really well too. Just in general this is one of the better looking MCU movies, colorful but maybe could've leaned even more into it. Can't say I feel the hand of the man that made Short Term 12, but you can only expect so much. I was into this more than I expected, never felt long or boring.

Once again, I'm sorry I ever made fun of Awkwafina, she's crazy likable every single time. Regardless of potential motives behind it, it's cool to see a blockbuster stacked with so many good Asian actors. Especially Tony Leung, that guy rules.
