  • Krampus

Digging into German folklore, Michael Dougherty has proven himself to be a director of great ideas and a rather untamed talent for making horror movies. Krampus is filled with great set pieces and a visual aesthetic that rivals any of your favorites. Film #3 of Hoop-Tober 2015

    Creepy and funny!

Indie horror from the lads across the sea. Built some tension fairly early on and holds onto it throughout the movie. Has some really eerie imagery and keeps you guessing right up to the reveal. The humor was pretty spot on and well timed. Helped create very likeable and relatable characters.

I feel it might lose some of its original charm upon a rewatch as it loses the who-done-it appeal.

Overall quite enjoyable and a very entertaining movie for a first time feature director.
