Oscar fishy’s got caught on this bait.

As much as it pains me to say “Oscar bait” I can’t help feeling this is exactly what it is, it felt very messy.

I feel it wasn’t sure which direction it was going in, and im honestly surprised it’s nommed for best picture but let’s face it, hanks, Streep and Spielberg like of course it’s going to be.

Despite some great sequences it just felt emotionless and I felt distanced because of it, the biggest mistake I think was not having Michael stuhlbarg playing a leading role.

    A Futile and Stupid Gesture

Not really sure which direction this was heading into, whilst im a fan of David Wain and usually find his comedy hilarious i didnt seem to find much of this funny despite the cast being mostly comedic actors.
The setting from the 70s+ is vibrant and colourful and beautifully designed but the film felt like it was going in different directions, i feel if they were going to do this piece on lapoon they should of maybe of changed it…

If the film was as good as Gary oldman's performance it could of been something great.

Rather than showing a in depth view of Winston's life it merely observes the things he did, rather the obstacles he overcame.
Unfortunately I'm disappointed, honestly the film would be lower if it wasn't for Gary Oldman's perfomance, Lily was also very good.

  • mother!

I really wanted to fall in love with Mother! after hearing such mixed thoughts i really felt i had to see it with my own eyes.

After watching i can say I'm happy I've seen it, but really wasn't anything special i was hoping for, i found the symbolism interesting at first when i was trying to piece bits together and understand what darren was trying to do, then it got to a point where i fully understood the point…
