    I've finally watched it.

Now, consider me a fan of Alex Garland.

This review took me longer than expected. There's just a lot to unpack. I have a lot to say.

I didn't really know what to expect from this film. I've heard some things about it. This is Garland's third film. I absolutely adored Ex Machina, it is one of the most fascinating and terrifying films I've seen. An impressive directorial debut, and I genuinely think it's amongst…

Argentinian Spanish is like a whole different language. Watching films in Spanish is supposed to help improve my listening comprehension skills. The thing is, you really need subtitles for this one, even if you speak Spanish. Before watching this, I thought I was fluent in Spanish. After watching it, it did make me feel like if I had to move to Argentina to study their language from zero, which I wouldn't mind since it's such…

    Pride Month 2022
    Film #17

The whole idea is a bit ridiculous. "What exactly about two straight dudes having sex on camera is a great piece of art?" They even get to question that themselves, which is funny because what was the point of the film then? In the end, they did convince me. I felt like they wanted to do it for a more specific reason, it could be just to experiment with each other or break the routine.…

I feel like this was made for the big screen. It's such a shame that it didn't have a proper theatrical release, and just went straight to streaming. The cinematography is gorgeous, and the sound design is impeccable. Plus, it's filled with suspenseful and wonderfully choreographed action sequences. It's such an effective survival thriller. I honestly couldn't care less about any of the predator sequels, but this prequel slaps! It certainly doesn't break any new ground. The story has been…

    The Batman

This was a huge surprise. The Batman exceeded my expectations.

There's so much to appreciate here; the cinematography, the score, the sound design, the editing, the pacing, the direction, the performances. This film looks amazing, and it's reminiscent of films like Seven (1995) and Saw (2004). This is more like a mystery thriller, engrossing from beginning to end. It's almost three hours long, but it keeps you always intrigued, I was never bored.

As I said, this film revolves around…
