The Irishman 10/10
Somebody give Joe Pesci a mother fucking Oscar. Boy was this a good movie. The three hour and thirty minute running time might make some people weary but I can assure you it needs every frame to tell this story. This is a much more mature movie than most of Scorsese’s gangster films. He paints his characters with remorse and guilt rather than focusing on the glamour. The movie is surprisingly funny, I found myself laughing harder than I have in most comedies. The film really hits its stride in the last 45 minutes of the film, it becomes a contemplative film about age and guilt. You can find elements of everything Scorsese has done over his his 52 year career. Though it may not be his last movie it is a culmination of his career thus far. I am excited to see what he brings next
