Andrew Moncrieff’s review published on Letterboxd:
The last, and least, of the six Inner Sanctum movies. A comparative epic at 66 minutes, they must have decided the customary opening scene with the head in the jar was too long for this one.
The plot is even messier than The Frozen Ghost, in that it sort of wants to be an Old Dark House story (accidentally staged in the farcical manner of Clue), but it takes place over multiple days and adds other locations, and people keep coming in to and leaving the house. That doesn’t work. It finally does something different with Lon Chaney, and that aspect I liked - it does give the entry a bit of finality with that final twist. But blah, this one just wasn’t any fun.
