    See How They Run

A real delight! Saoirse could charm her way through any movie with her eyes closed and while Sam Rockwell is usually your go-to guy for irresistible, weirdo energy I think he plays this one a little too flat, even as the straight man of the pairing. It felt like I kept waiting for him to turn it on at some point. Anywho, maybe it’ll look different on a second viewing (there will be a second viewing for sure).

    David Oyelowo…

  • Pearl

Good stuff! I also liked X but my enthusiasm for it feels lukewarm in comparison to how much I enjoyed Pearl. Everyone is right, Mia Goth puts in great work balancing being meek and menacing at the flip of a hat. Like an Olive Oyl with a kill streak.

Side note: Had to do something I’m not particularly proud of (politely asked audience member behind me if they could keep it down) but you can only push a man so far. If you’re reading this, I’m sorry I interrupted you’re conversation.

We were running late to catch our 3PM screening of The Batman at the Regal Marqee theater in central Houston after tying up the loose ends to our very last minute Robert Pattinson collection (which quite honesty came together from soup to nuts in a span of less than 24 hours by our very talented team, please clap) and as a result we completely forgot to eat lunch. Usually we’d have eaten something well before this point in the day…

I loved this so much. Noir is alive and well.

Side note: I should’ve never told Aidee that Gadget was my first crush as a kid bc when her big entrance happened she looked and me and said, “there’s your girlfriend.”
