    Apes. Together. Strong. About as slightly mixed as the other films, but as the others, snowballs into something much bigger than the sum of its parts. This has been one of the better sci-fi trilogies of all time, really. The last one that was this consistent across the board was almost certainly the original Star Wars trilogy.

    No matter what you hear or know about DUNKIRK before going in, nothing can really prepare you for just how intense and visceral  it is. That's a good thing. It sweeps the rug out from under you constantly. Every grand plan made by a general, a scheme made by a soldier- it can all go to shit in a moment's notice thanks to a German torpedo or the Luftwaffe.     Assault on Precinct 13


    "We've got a stretcher for you ma'am." She gives one of the most "are you fucking kidding me?" death glares in movie history, and walks out on her own. So great. 

    This is an excellent exercise in genre that everybody should see. It looks great and is just cool as hell. Moves a little too slowly at times...but that's kind of Carpenter for you. As usual, his synth score is at least 60% responsible for the total awesomeness of the film.
