Andy Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gorgeously shot (love the aspect ratio choice for this kind of film) and superbly acted. The mystery and psychedelic nature of the tale are both engrossing, however I couldn't help but feel the movie itself was a bit superficial? Even as I say that I feel like I just missed the overall theme (which is totally possible), but just recording my honest thought. I also admit that dread horror is not really my thing.
However, it is truly a tour de force for both Defoe and Pattinson, the latter I feel is not getting the accolades he deserves.
