Blinded by the Light ★★★★

The story of sixth form student Javed a young British-Pakistani boy living in Luton. He feels trapped by his family, his religion and the racist society around him. Through a friend he discovers the music of Bruce Springsteen. This opens his world and he finally finds someone who speaks how he feels. Blinded by the Light is a splendid, heartwarming comedy drama. The film has great visual flare the way in sequences it shows lyrics projected behind Javed as he walks or stands in a scene. The film hits hard enough with the racism stuff and also shows the at times narrow sighted almost selfish drive of Javed. His decision on his sister's wedding day best displaying this and it's consequences. This film is a delightful surprise I recommend to anyone
