    ★★★★

Even if you have no interest in car racing, or any kind of competitive sport, “Ford vs. Ferrari” is a film you simply cannot miss. It goes beyond racing; it’s humanistic in its portrayal of friendship, marriage, fatherhood, and wrestling with those who wish to hold you down when you can’t help but fly. With brilliant performances, terrific cinematography, emotional drama, perfectly timed comedy, and a script so well written that you’ll believe you were hearing the men speaking themselves,…

    ★★

Though this film has heart, it lacks imagination. And though it’s well-stitched together, it’s not all so entertaining. -The new terminator (Rev-9) has a very non-threatening look. Like I’d go have a beer…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

We’re about an hour into the film before anything substantial happens. But when it finally gets rolling, “Doctor Sleep” is tremendously adventurous. Its only noticeable flaw is that the flashback sequences are distractingly derivative of the original masterpiece “The Shining.” Scenes from the original were reshot for this film, and I consider that a sin. Other than that, Ewan McGregor and Kyliegh Curran are a match made in casting heaven! And Rebecca Ferguson is a worthy antagonist.

    The scenes in…
