Visually stunning. I wasn’t a fan of the ending. Major plot holes.

The Social Dilemma 2020
I felt like I was relearning facts that most everyone knows about social media, while not really feeling the action the makers probably wanted to inspire. I'd pass.

Seaspiracy 2021
Felt like the statistics in this movie were pretty off, if you took them one level deeper. It felt like the creator was trying to create some controversy.

Snowpiercer 2013
Conceptually, I wasn't a fan. Always trying to find loopholes in these apocalypse movies, and this one had plenty (IMO). Too much forced symbolism, not done super well.

Casting JonBenet 2017
Some people hated the format, but I thought the format did an amazing job capturing the uncertainty & speculation around the JonBenet case. I thought it moved pretty slowly though, hence the 3.5 stars.

My Octopus Teacher 2020
One of the best things to come out of 2020. Absolutely stunning visually, and if you don't cry, I don't believe you have tear ducts! Octopuses are incredibly intelligent, and it was amazing to see the human animal bond in this movie.

Train to Busan 2016
Solid zombie horror flick. Soo-an is an adorable child lead who invokes both fear & the stubbornness of determined young lady!

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch 2018
I really wanted to like this concept movie more than I did. There were some hilariously punchy moments, but I admittedly got bored with the choice selections, and happened to go down one of the longest paths to finish the movie. Mad props for the experimentation though.

The Platform 2019
So I'm not usually one for super overt symbolism, but I really liked the platform concept to relay societal statuses / capitalism. Great concept and great execution. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending, so docking a star there.
