    The Invisible Man

    ★★★½

Much better attempt at modernizing the Universal Monsters over The Mummy. The first half gives the viewer a peak into someone escaping and living with the aftermath of an intense, abusive relationship. This aftermath only gets worse when the titular Invisible Man shows up to terrorize her more.

In keeping with recent movies like the Child's Play reboot, technology is the vehicle for terror instead of magic or alchemy.

Unfortunately, plot holes aplenty begin cropping up in the last third of the film. Enough to take me out of the narrative and say that doesn't make sense.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

    ★★★

This was better than Suicide Squad. But I was not a fan of the characterization of any of the characters beyond Harley Quinn and Mr. Zsasz. Not Black Canary. Not Huntress. Not Cassandra Cain. Not Black Mask. Not Renee Montoya.

    Attack of the Morningside Monster

    ★★½

I kind of enjoyed this low budget horror entry.

The movie starts out with someone in a dark robe killing someone. That body later turns up after some teenagers have a small get-together in the woods.

We are introduced to the Sheriff and deputes of Morningside. We get a glimpse into the community's normal flow. From low-tier drug dealers to high school teachers.

As more people die a ritualistic death, the hunt is on for the killer.

You're probably going to figure out who the killer is, but this was still a fun popcorn movie for October.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I cannot be objective about this movie. At all. You get laughs, tears, the whole gamut of emotions. The screenwriters and directors manage to pay off every movie from the MCU. Every Movie. Even Thor: Dark World.

I cannot go into the opening scene. It is emotionally devastating. It is a gut punch to remind you people missing and what the remaining people are going through.

Spoilers - no Spoliers. The Avengers track down Thanos after the Snap. It does…
