Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood ★★★★★

So this is my third time watching this, and I am still noticing the little details that I didn't before. Now, this isn't Tarantino's best work but I still absolutely love it, mostly because all of his films are fun in one way or another, as well as being a great way to spend two and a half hours.

The acting and story are obviously brilliant with DiCaprio playing a brilliant Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt playing Cliff Booth. All characters are intriguing throughout and really draw you in from the very beginning. The screenplay was amazing, fun dialogue mixed with both a true and lively story.

The cinematography in this is spectacular and like other recent films from Tarantino, Robert Richardson has bought them to life once again. It's very consistent throughout as well as having some thrilling shots. It's also great to see yet another film shot on 35mm, meaning the colours are exceptional. I also loved the set design and how they bought the '60s back to the 21st century with the amazing work from Barbara Ling and John Dexter.

Obviously the music was incredible, but you would expect nothing less from Tarantino with his "All Vinyl" collection. The amount of references to the '60s in this is also amazing, everything from posters of 2001 to even radio advertisements.

Overall, I loved this film, and even though I may be a bit bias since I will like anything that Tarantino does I thought this was something special. But pretty much everything about it was amazing and you can really see everyone in it perfecting their craft. 10/10
