TIFF 2019 #5
This was a weird one... Complete nonsense for most of its running time, with some questionable vfx and dialogue, but at the same time I can't say I disliked it. Although it's definitely messy, there are genuine moments of greatness in here. You also get a great score from Colin Stetson and another insane performance from Nicolas Cage. That scene of him repeatedly slam dunking fruits into a trash can will undoubtedly become a meme right away.
Not particularly amazing, but super entertaining especially with the rowdy Midnight Madness crowd. For a two hour runtime it honestly went by really quick.
