Night Games has patience and an eye for detail. It lets moments arrive organically, and faces are framed in a way to emphasize their uniqueness. It's often gorgeously shots, and certain moments are incredible. The newspaper castle sequence should be taught in film classes.
But the film is essentially the story of a jerky guy recalling how his mom was kind of crappy and how that's the reason why he is shitty to women these days (but he's trying to change). Not interested.
