Rembrandt Q Pumpernickel’s review published on Letterboxd:
Takes two different movies, one about growing older and comparing one's self to young people and one about types of film and what constitutes honest expression in film, and never truly coalesces them. Each of those disparate films has some great moments, but it never feels like a coherent whole at all. I was pleasantly surprised that some of the stuff that was in the trailer that made me feel uneasy (like the hip-hop class) was handled far better in the context of the whole film.
Naomi Watts, however, was excellent.
