• Lonesome

Lonesome is a beautiful part sound and silent classic that included many gorgeous and iconic carnival scenery.Although the added matched up dialogue sounds sometimes took me out of the film a bit the music and visuals made up for it and still completely captivated me for its entire 1 hour and 15 minute runtime. The tinting that was in some of the carnival scenes remains spectacular and the depiction of the monotonous working class life contrasted perfectly with the joy filled romantic moments.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

When watching Casino Raiders I found the brotherhood aspect between Alam Tam and Andy Lau a cool and interesting part of the story. I was disappointed when the plot ended up making the two climaxes not include the brotherhood/partnership. I think it would have been really cool if instead of splitting up the "brothers" for the two end climaxes they should have merged them together.

The first climax ends with Crab Chan's death in the result of…

    The Kissing Booth 2

As a kid I used to take hikes with my mother during summer breaks. We would explore abandoned mills and the remnants of the past. We made memories together being careful not to fall or trip over rocks. There was this one river that flowed near the ruins in which we often entertained ourselves near. It was the perfect balance of peace and nature. It was like the Garden of Eden, Mount Olympus, Annwn.

As you can see, I loved…

    Barbie: Spy Squad

I decided to start watching the Barbie movies (especially the ones I haven't seen) to hype up for the 2021 Greta Gerwig Barbie film and also to relive my childhood.

I feel like everytime the Barbie movies try to make the cute sidekick characters (like the weird purple/pink things in Barbie and the secret door or any of the fish in the pearl princess - don't ask) they always turn out kind of disgusting, but also nothing beats Bibble (He's…

  • Luther

"God? A shaft of lightning burned your arse and you called that God?"

I made a connection with Martin Luther and Jane Eyre today during my zoom meeting.

Also Joseph Fiennes looks like a way better version of my uncle (and yes I don't know what that means either).

This blows my mind every time.

  • Rat Race

    Rat Race

This is such an early 2000s cult film that I will certainly remember for its slapstick exaggerated humor. Having not seen Airplane, I can't really compare this to any of Jerry Zucker's previous works. The way the film presents its shallow, exaggerated humor isn't really my style but still makes the film enjoyable. There was this one racist Asian joke that was pretty dumb, I mean it was the early 2000s, what did I expect. It was overall pretty predictable…

  • Camera Buff

    Camera Buff

"Camera buff," was an artistic delve into the life and journey of a man who discovers the camera. He starts to create art and life through his pictures. I really enjoyed the "camera buff" aspects of this film and how it is about the immortality of film. Sometimes I found the wife and baby vs. what you love plot line a little irritating, but it adds the the theme and plot, so I can't really complain. I really liked the…
