Man, we really lost something with River Phoenix. Stand By Me is such a incredible movie about best friends, growing up, life, death. Rob Reiner did an amazing job getting these performances out of all these child actors, especially River Phoenix —such an empathetic, warm performance that I don’t think I’ve seen from someone that young. And what the hell happened to THIS Rob Reiner?
It’s a damn near perfect film. Well written, well acted, funny. The writing is very clever and witty. One of the greatest closing lines of all time. As always, Marilyn Monroe's presence is electric. Jack Lemmon is hilarious and we could use a modern day version of him. Some Like It Hot is more funny than most comedy films today and it's 60 years old! It’s a movie that just makes me happy.
For the longest time, I've felt that Robert Pattinson was a terrific actor hindered by terrible scripts and sloppy writing. With Good Time, it places him in extremely unfamiliar territory, and he performs with flying colors. It's always nice to see directors with a distinct style that works. Loved the neon colors and synth soundtrack. A real ‘good time’ overall!
The Disaster Artist is an absolute joy from start to finish! I was pleasantly surprised at how much heart this movie has. It's filled with so much soul, warmth and character.
