    Friday the 13th Part 2

My favorite of the Friday the 13th, improves on the first in many ways and is also, horror icon, Jason’s first appearance and, in my opinion, is his most effective. Going for a darker and more brutal story, it is a continuation of th first film , while it also ends that story and starts a new one. Jason sports more of a hillbilly look that is honestly creepier than the iconic hockey mask and this film also uses the twist ending with an even more shocking jump scare that still terrifies me.

    Friday the 13th

Coming in after the success of Halloween, this film that spawned nine sequels, a crossover, and remake started off a trend in the slasher craze of the eighties. This film has all you would like in a slasher, creative kills, twist endings, and characters that seem more fleshed out than the normal teen characters. The twist ending is still one that many people don’t see coming and also the jump scares are also effective and like Halloween, also has a creepy atmosphere and soundtrack that is extremely effective.

I’ve always been a fan by this underrated sequel, I was never bothered by the fact that it takes place in another universe where Halloween is just a film. The supernatural, science fiction thriller is also in scenes creepy and has a creepy, synthetic soundtrack that rivals the first two in quality since it was produced by John Carpenter himself. The original route was to have every Halloween film be a separate story taking place in the Halloween season. Nonetheless I would’ve loved to have seen a continuation to this film, since it does leave with a very intense cliffhanger.

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

I’m one of very few people that really enjoys this film and prefers it over part four and six. I enjoy how it gets right to the point and expands on the story set in part four. I don’t really enjoy part four because it was a slight redo of the original but this one brings new fresh ideas and has a darker more brooding atmosphere similar to the second film. I also enjoy the mask more in this film…
