Uncut Gems 2019
It’s not as frantic as Good Time like I thought it was gonna be but god dam I’ve never cared about basketball so much before this. It’s a continuous boiling pot that finally explodes by the end; Adam Sandler, the music, the editing all make this the energetic fever dream that it is. The Safdie’s are amazing.

Midnight Special 2016
There’s something about this movie that I just really love I can’t fully explain it considering it’s not groundbreaking, but the performances especially by Michael Shannon and Kirsten Dunst and Adam Driver in his small role are great. The score in particular is really great and probably the main reason I revisit this so often. A nice, enjoyable gem of a movie.

Inside Llewyn Davis 2013
I don’t know why I felt compelled to watch this on Christmas given its dower tone, but usually the more honest and somber films make me feel at ease I suppose.
