Being the Ricardos 2021
Everyone says a line is funny but I don’t remember laughing once.
No real insight to Desi and Lucy. Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are fine, most of the supporting cast carries this.
We need to stop enabling this man and his directing work.

Osmosis Jones 2001
The worst parts of this movie are the complete waste of Brandy’s role and the Kid Rock cameo

The Out-of-Towners 1970
Jack Lemmon is typically great at playing neurotic characters that ultimately have heart, but the screenplay isn’t really doing him any favors. It’s got funny bits here and there but the main characters aren’t really likable in any way and Sandy Dennis isn’t given enough to make Gwen shine, which is unfortunate because she has really funny moments here and there. Only an hour and a half but it feels longer than it should.

Candyman 2021
Disappointed after waiting for a year. It’s gets very triggering towards the end (iykyk) by trying to make a specific statement that I personally do not think works. Unfortunate because it’s beautifully shot and clearly inspired by a lot of 70s horror in terms of cinematography. The actors were great but it’s a miss for me. Hoping to see more from Nia DaCosta in the future though cause I think she has a great vision.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 2020
I really need Aaron Sorkin to stop doing what he thinks is directing.
Also Sacha Baron Cohen for best supporting actor? Really? If we’re treating this like a comedic performance at least give it to Jeremy Strong who was one of the few carrying this. Also Eddie Redmayne should just quietly go away.

Promising Young Woman 2020
Very conflicted. I mostly enjoyed this until the very end, which was quite triggering and left a very bad taste in my mouth. The acting was quite good but that ending is just gross.
Oh well, Bo Burnham was pretty so that sorta helped
