    John Wick: Chapter 2

    ★★★★

Violence makes the soul grow crazier. One can argue that "John Wick: Chapter 2" isn't exactly violence at all. In fact, it’s almost a satirical look at violence. Without really needing to have much to say about violence or needing much of a plot, the film can still poke fun at and giggle in the general direction of serious actioners with too much emphasis on story, characters, and point of view. Nolan creates a "semi-futuristic" setting that seems believable for the most…

    Birdman

    ★★★★★

A masterful piece of art cinema, Birdman is an attack on the senses in all the best ways. This isn't your run of the mill pretentious mess of exaggerated visual art disguise as Oscar bate. No, this is a rich, dense, and pop culture filled film with great performances, great set design, and outstanding directing. Its not a perfect film. How could it be? Its so ambitious that there was literally no way to make it flawless. However, its so…
