pretty much remembered this shot-for-shot, even though it's been >10 years since I've seen this. probably due to this being a very confident and stylish piece of moviemaking. Zemeckis deserves props for that, I believe, and perhaps ... Spielberg does, too?
unfortunately I can't help but obsess about the writing of it all and while the main story is engaging, the film's structure forces a *lot* of exposition before we can get to the actual point of it all. as a result, the movie is both over-stuffed and under-nourished, and feels way too long.
