DA 12 DAYS OF SPIKE: DAY 2
Motherfuckin' good ol' American college fun, capital F-U-N. Whereas Spike's now-patented kinetic visual style and exuberant color palette is noticeably missing from his first feature (although both are present in exactly one scene in She's Gotta Have It, so it's not like Lee just had an overnight epiphany), they can both be found in spades here. A totally off-the-wall, energetic, and not at-all-sophomoric sophomore feature. As much as She's Gotta Have It blows my mind for being his first feature, this one blows my mine even more for being his second.
