Oskar’s review published on Letterboxd:
Fuller elevates a pretty average noir with interesting characters and his always moving camera with incredible blocking. The blocking is always what sticks out to me the most as I go through these Fuller pictures as he never wastes the opportunity to give a shot meaning, always moving the camera in a surprising and interesting way just when a shot is getting dull. Also would be wrong to not talk about the love triangle which keeps this movie going, specifically the character of Joe Kojaku. A complex character treated with humanity and empathy by Fuller, especially impressive for 1959. Shame about the exploitative tagline and poster.
