Aiden’s review published on Letterboxd:
Kurt Russell is very cool. but thats about it. I didn't find this to be overly suspenseful, the action is kinda goofy and the characters are pretty lackluster. The direction from Carpenter and the production design was pretty great, but this really didn't offer me very much. There were definitely points where it was reasonably tense and some action sequences which I liked, but these were mostly in the first half, where the city was still a lot more mysterious. I have no clue why everyone thinks that Snake is dead but I don't think it really worked if it was supposed to be funny.
5.5/10 - Kurt Russell is cool and I wish he was in like, a Mad Max movie or something.
also, I roasted 'Arkham City' for having the same general premise for a setting because it was dumb as shit. And yes, I think it is used way more interestingly in this film, but it still doesn't make any sense (not really a knock on the film, I just thought I'd mention it).
