A total rip off of Princess Mononoke, but when you’re ripping off something so good, what you are left with isn’t half bad. A bit too much of the “political intrigue” but the mysticism was great. A few images really stuck out to me, namely the floating balloons in every landscape that looked like eyes and signaled the emperor’s arrival.

Thor: Love and Thunder 2022
I think this will go down as THE pinnacle artifact of Marvel fatigue, even more than some of the worse movies/shows. Dr. Strange 2 sucked, but it really sucked. This just floats in a very uncomfortable way. It should be fine and it is sub-fine. It is a movie that feels as aimless as the real world universe that it is a part of. The Tale of King Crab 2021
A special movie. Somehow it balances both the true essence of a folk tale and the essence of an epic adventure. Equal parts weird, tragic, and thrilling. This also works largely because the protagonist is kind of the worst, but he’s kind of awesome too. I feel like I say this a lot, but this has some of the most stunning locations and shots that I’ve seen in a really long time.
