a bizarre, beautiful, mad dash of a movie. it doesn’t always work- sometimes the tonal whiplash makes the dramatic beats falter, but when it does its great. beautifully surreal and strange, thematically profound, which gives focus to a loose story.
adam driver being in 3 potentially prestige m
ovies this year and getting nominated for none of them is the funniest shit in the world i’m sorry. you know he was sure he would be for at least one of them. honestly of the 3 this is easily his strongest performance, to me. honestly, i think his performance is better than cotillard’s is, though she is also lovely.
anyways henry isn’t even that wild. fathers are just like that.
and best poster of any movie this year!
