solid double bill with this and the master.
just 2 dudes duking it out.
i’m the psycho who relates to both of them,
in both the movies.
with every installment, peele has very intentionally dropped the act of — not that it was ever a glaring issue — masking easter eggs as verisimilitude-creating details. he has decided to save all that creative expenditure and invest it elsewhere: depth; like, actual, thematic depth.
he still confuses me sometimes, though, cause i don’t know if his arcs are self-contradicting because he’s confused, or i am the confused one cause, well, he is a clever writer.
but i love praising…
damn looks like i’m adding to the already stacked pile of positive reviews.
it’s great, it’s fun. i laughed, and i laughed even harder.
charmed me from the first few minutes.
also had my butt clenched in quite a few scenes (bradley cooper you crazy bastard, i love you).
but paul thomas anderson cheated cause you can’t put mccartney AND the doors on the soundtrack and expect me to not like the movie.
