Always Be My Maybe ★★

if you don't know anything about queer parenthood and non-binary people, please stop trying to be condescendingly woke in a way that comes off extremely conservative. joking about a girl "having three mums" or people not fitting into the gender binary in a way that shows the writers' complete lack of understanding towards trans and queer people really sucks, and the way that the movie feels so convinced that it's in anyway empowering really bums me out. anyway, even as a defender of most of these Netflix filler rom-coms, this doesn't get the fundamentals right, there's no chemistry or interest in the major relationship and all the supporting performances suck. Randall Park and Ali Wong deserve better, as do any of the people watching this in PRIDE MONTH
