"I know it was you Fredo
You broke my heart"

I'm going to be honest here, but I'm one of those who likes The Godfather Part II over The Godfather. While I do think The Godfather is a masterpiece, and most probably a better movie, though on a personal aspect I loved this film a little more. I think it went darker and took the premise of the first film and did something alot better. Here we have two stories. A sequel and a prequel. The sequel is the continuation of the first film - the prequel is the story of the early days of Vito Corleone and his rise to being the head of his business. Some stellar performances here especially from Pacino and De Niro. Pacino really did an amazing job in bringing Michael Corleone to life, and he was his best in this film. De Niro though is easily my favourite performance of this film. My favourite parts of the movie are definitely the prequel sequences. I find the runtime exceptional. I didn't have a problem with it at all and honestly felt shorter than the original which is 25 minutes less. Saying this is a 3hr 22min movie, I did not feel that at all, time just flew by, and makes this film rewatchable for me. I will definitely be re watching the whole trilogy evantually. So far this is one of the best trilogies of all time, all though I heard The Godfather Part III is a little of a let down but we'll have to see.

Overall Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 epic masterpiece The Godfather Part II is one exceptional film. Its one of my favorites of all time and obviously one of the greatest sequels ever made. It is a good movie but I also just genuinely love this film. Amazing direction, pacing, acting, cinematography, set design and just an amazing film. I would 100% reccomend this film, seeing as you'd have to watch original Godfather first, which is a masterpiece and one of the best - but I personally live love The Godfather Pary II a little more. Two fantastic films overall and this (and its previous film) are some of the best achievements in cinema history. Love this film so much, it's cinematic perfection.
