Strangely better than I expected. Still awful, but not quite as awful as I originally thought.
Don’t get me started on the post credits bullshit
The premise suggests a sci-fi thriller, (one that I would still like to see mind you!) but we get an emotional tear jerker, both sad and wholesome. Ali and Harris are perfect for this and their chemistry is so natural, it was easy to place myself into the shoes of the protagonist, imagining what I would do if I were to face the same scenario.
Very clear that the story is driven by the stunts Bay wanted to shoot. I can’t deny that they were impressive stunts, but it also had the Bay classics: Embarrassing dialogue, references to his own films, Police worship, even a dog cameo.
Basically like watching Bay furiously masturbate in front of a mirror.
