A tragic and twisted tale of codependency, the cruelty of Hollywood, the hollow nature of fame/fortune, and obsessive delusions gone unchecked. I’ve seen maybe one other film by Billy Wilder (the seven year itch) and I had no idea he was capable of this kind of crime noir story. The pacing could’ve been a bit better but otherwise this is a phenomenal movie. David Lynch mentioned in an interview how Sunset Blvd. influenced Mulholland Drive, and now I can fully appreciate both films on another level.
