  gotta respect a kid's movie in which most of the protagonists are brutally massacred in the last 15 minutes. some really fun effects and production design but the middle is super saggy. worth watching at least the first and last 20 minutes

  this easily has the weakest middle of any of the LW&C films and honestly probably the weakest first third as well. thankfully the final 20 or so minutes really make up for it with a fucking incredible final massacre and some of the most insane blood sprays of the entire series

  when my uncle was a prop artist for this movie he tried to stuff baby's head full of weed before it got flown to africa with him for the jungle scenes, but he accidentally loaded up the wrong head, the one that was staying in hollywood for the on-set scenes. eventually the smell of weed being cooked inside a rubber dinosaur head by the studio lights became unmistakable and someone found it but my uncle was never implicated or at least nobody cared enough to get him in trouble when he got back

  i feel like chor yuen deserves some kind of wuxia hero style honorific title. i propose The Rainbow Dappled Director. or perhaps The Wizard of Color and Fog. The Disco Godfather of Kung Fu.

  anyway nothing too exciting or novel plotwise but an extra half star for the sheer number of explosions and set demolitions during the end
